MY PHILOSOPHY

I fully believe that one’s education is a personal action to affect their future. Carl Rogers is one of the founders of the humanism theory; he mainly added on to Abraham Maslow’s theory. Rogers’s theory proposes that a student’s environment nurtures their genuineness, acceptance, and empathy. I completely agree with this theory. A child’s environment affects their entire future tremendously. I full heartedly believe that anyone in a child’s life should do everything in their power to help the student have an environment where they are able to succeed. Unfortunately, not every child has this opportunity. As an aspiring educator, my main goal in my future endeavor is to provide an environment that children need and may only get to experience in my classroom. I want every single one of my students to be valued and cherished because that is not only what they deserve, but need in order to thrive in this world. No one in this world would be successful without at least one teacher. I intend to become an educator who will impact at least one life; even if only one child is impacted by me, they are going to be worth it all.

The children we are teaching today, are tomorrow's adults who will shape the world into something completely different from what it is now; it is our job to provide them with the proper guidance and the resources they need to achieve their goals. As a future educator, I intend to not only bring out my students' unique and special gifts they have to bring to the table but also help them develop their gifts. I want my students to be well-taught, a light in a world of darkness, leaders, mentors, and most of all - the best version of themselves.
