InTASC Standard: Leadership and Collaboration - The teacher seeks appropriate leadership roles and opportunities to take responsibility for student learning, to collaborate with learners, families, colleagues, other school professionals, and community members to ensure learner growth, and to advance the profession (InTASC, 2013).
Brief Description of Evidence:During the 2018 fall semester at Ivy Tech, I was given the opportunity to come up with a grant idea. My group came up with the idea of a Wellness Zenter. We had to put together a presentation, practice grant application, budget, and a lesson plan.

Analysis of What I Learned:
With this assignment, I learned a lot about how important collaboration is to get a job done. Between four group member, we had to learn how to fill out a grant application, put together a presentation, make a budget, and come up with a spectacular idea that will ensure learner growth. I also learned how vital it is to teach kids about mindfulness. A lot of students deal with stress and anxiety, this project is a way we could prevent that by providing students with tools/resources to help them overcome these issues. I also learned that grants are an incredible way for a teacher to take leadership in their classroom.
How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence of the InTASC Standard:
Collaboration, leadership, and teamwork are all a necessity for the Wellness Zenter. The Wellness Zenter would be open to the whole entire community to allow others to benefit from this experience. In my classroom, I will be using mindfulness to help ensure learner growth. I will lead them in yoga stretches and breathing exercises they can use to overcome stress and anxiety. I want to continuously challenge myself to help provide my students with mechanisms that will help them with any obstacles. I will also allow the students to take part in leadership roles by leading the class in different poses/stretches. I believe this Wellness Zenter will help teachers take an active role in mindfulness to better student learning.
